Vic in Germany #1

On Dec. 15th I arrived savely in Germany. Everything went well.....besides I got my suitcase 2 days late. No problem though-my family took good care of me. It´s good to be here!

This is what it looked like when I woke up the next morning:

A couple of days later my mom and I went to Nuremberg. The famous Christkindlesmarket was one of our Targets. First thing to do was to eat "drei in an Weckla"- 3 short brats in a bun! AAAAAAAAWESOME!!!!

Then we strolled up and down the endless isles of the market to admire the goodies and attractions!

Yummy Lebkuchen!

Handmade wooden toys:

My favorite food of all times- Butterbrezeln!!!!!!!

Saturday my sister and mom invited some friends of mine over for a baby party- not a German tradition but a reason to get together and have fun. Here´s Jana with her moses-basket-cake! She made it just for me- ...and it took her about 6 hours  she said. Thanks, Jana!!!

I got a lot of books, in German of course, so that baby and daddy can learn/read/listen to the beautiful sounds of mom´s language! Ingrid, my mom´s cousin made 4 different hats and matching booties- sooooo cute and I can be sure nobody else has them! There was also a sleeping bag, some German traditional jewelry, CDs (one with recorded sounds of a hair dryer and running water), .... I had an awesome day with good friends and lots of cake!

Yesterday my friend Tracie and I started working on putting away all the baby clothes I've been given at the baby shower in Ohio! It was fun to go through all the things again- but there was a loooooot.......of pink!
So this is what it looked like before in the baby's room:

...and in the laundty room:

Here are the after shots of the closet...

...and the dresser:

...I just looove the bunny!

Thanks everybody for the nice things again! We will sure get some good use out of them!

...

Guess who that is?

Here is a pic of my father in law, Don, and me comparing our bellies. I think it's obvious who the winner is!?

The white thing peeking out under my t-shirt is an elastic belt that supports my really heavy belly- one of the greatest inventions ever!!!
Here you can find more pix from the baby shower last Sunday:

This and that

I know I haven't posted anything in a while- sorry for that, I was just very busy with napping, growing a baby, walking Nelson, baking and cooking for several FRG events, helping out people, keeping the house clean, disposing of Halloween candy, doing arts and crafts for our FRG fundraiser, doing laundry, spending time with friends,....and most of all waiting for calls from Afghanistan!
Here are some pictures from Eric.

Yesterday afternoon after preparing  the FRG fall carnival (Gavin, Chrissy, I, Tracie and Hunter):

Me and Aurora, a friend's baby. That night Gavin (one of Chrissy's sons) gave out teddy bears to all the children with one deployed parent. We (Baby J., Eric and I) got the big white one in the picture. Aurora got a bright pink one!

Ok you guys- enough now. I can't sit anymore... my ... hurts and I am getting hungry! Take care!

It's a girl!

I had my big ultrasound appointment today. The baby is right where it's supposed to be and her heartbeat is strong...just like her little fists and feet that are constantly kicking me!
