Be careful, Lester!

Last Saturday our friend Lester deployed to Iraq. The night before Eric helped him to get ready for his trip (there was a looooot of packing and spray paint fumes!!!).

Seeing Lester and Anett saying their good-byes made me really sad. It just reminded me of what is going to happen to Eric and me this summer.

Our new home

Yaaaaayyyyy! We finally found a place to live! The house is really cute and we feel pretty good here already..... maybe thanks to my idea of chasing away all the evil spirits and energies that probably have been living in the empty house (actually it wasn't my idea- I read it in my Feng Shui book!!!). I made lots of noise in every room of the house- especially in the (dark)corners. Eric and Nelson helped me, although not really believing in it I think. I'm happy though and it was a lot of fun!

Almost all rooms have a ceiling fan. Even the porch! Every room has 1-2 windows which I looove! Other than the rooms you saw on the pictures the house has two small guest bedrooms, one guest bath, one laundry/mud room, one (probably considered as a) formal dining room, which we will use as a study/library and lots of storage.

Eric recently talked to the moving agency and as of now our goods are supposed to arrive here on Sunday/Monday! It's still a wait but that gives me time to do all my Feng Shui math before all the furniture arrives!!!

YEEEEHAAAAW!?

Last Thursday we finally arrived in Killeen, TX. We've been house hunting all weekend and were very unsuccessful. But President's Day was a lucky day for us! We found a little house in a very new neighborhood in Killeen. Though having two very small spare bedrooms it has a huge master suite and the kitchen opens up into a dining space and then into the living space- very open! It's a little one story red brick house where I could feel the chi flowing.... yes....I am into Feng Shui now...I found a book about it and am convinced it will make you feel good to live in a well balanced home....we'll see what happens. Eric called me the "queen of dorks"....once again.......but he hasn't complained yet!.......because the chi IS flowing! As soon as we move in I will send pictures of our very well balanced home.

P.S. I saw people square dancing for the first time in my life!!! AAAAwesome!!!...reminded me very much of the German "Volkstanz" but Germans are waaaay faster....have their steps memorized and neither speak nor mumble while dancing?!

moving day

Monday morning the movers came around 9 o'clock and started packing up our nest. The guys were really fast and did a good job wrapping everything with a lot of care. Here's what some of our rooms looked like after the packing:







We had some fun goofin' around the same evening.....Eric started building a box fort when I packed him into one of the boxes instead!







The next morning we woke up and there was REAL SNOW in our backyard. Nelson immediately got busy eating the snow.







Tuesday morning the movers came back and started loading the truck. That evening everything was gone and we were left in an empty house.







We both hated to sleep on the air matresses. It was cold and uncomfortable. The only nice thing about sleeping on the floor was that Nelson and I counld do our morning snuggles in bed!!!!!

Since the movers, pest control (exit spray) and carpet cleaner guy all were so fast and thorough we are able to leave Thursday afternoon. Our plan now is to drive to El Paso tonight and arrive in Texas Friday evening. The Krause-Jankowskis on the road again!!!!

I will really miss Sierra Vista- we made such good friends here and had an awesome time!!!

Countdown

Here are some updates on our last days in Sierra Vista.
Today the moving company sent somebody to check out how much stuff we have to get packed. On Saturday I will pick up Eric from the airport in Tucson.
Next Monday the movers start packing our house and will hopefully have loaded everything on the moving truck by Thursday afternoon. Friday we have our final walk through with the owner's agent. After all that circus we're hopefully on the road to Texas in the afternoon of Friday the 13th!!!!!
