Cowboy Mouth Concert

Last night after Zumba (dancing class) Christine and I went to the FREEEEEEEE Cowboy Mouth concert on post. The band is from New Orleans where Eric went to school. Unfortunately only about 100 people came to see the band. Christine and I had a blast dancing and jumping around! The band leader was awesome and a little crazy- he made all kinds of weird faces while playing. Cowboy Mouth put on a great show!!! ...one of the best I've ever seen. Eric would have loved it- so I got him a t-shirt:

... and had the back signed by the band leader:

I also got the ORIGINAL playlist that was taped to the floor on stage and a piece of a drumstick that broke during the concert!!!! Hey- I am not crazy- I just enjoyed it as much as I could -> for Eric, who would have looooved to be there!

Makin' pumkins

Last night Christine, Nolan and Liam invited me over for dinner and some pumkin carving. I got two pumkins the day before- I would dedicate one to everybody who can't be with me at that moment.

Here's the proof that we worked hard:

Liam was very busy helping and did a great job (i.e. collecting the seeds and entertaining us with his Spiderman/Batman stories):

He was also my "design advisor":

...I know... not the best picture of me!...I look scarier than my pumkin!?

Beautiful/scary pumkins:

Yummy roasted pumkin seeds:

The pumkins came out really good and the evening was a lot of fun- thanks, Christine, Nolan and Liam!

Bailey-day

Thursday Nelson and I had Bailey over for a few hours. The two boys had a blast playing in the yard ....and in the house...grrrrrr.

...guess who won???!!!!
.....
...

It's snuggle time!!!!!

After beeing exhausted from playing and snuggeling I took the boys inside and hoped they would each find their favorite nap spots.

...

Well, Bailey found his one near my cozy socks.....

This is what happens if you steal my socks:

Nelson and Bailey had a great day and lots to sniff about.

Our first anniversary

On October 20th will be our first anniversary!

Thanks to everybody for the cards!

Because Eric has to leave for flight school before the 20th we decided to celebrate our big day a little earlier. So on Saturday (18th) we went out to dinner and had the top layer of our wedding cake afterwards. We were both surprised how great a one year old cake can taste!

YUUUUMMMMYYYYY!!!!!!!

KISSESSSS!!!!

Once in a while,
right in the middle of an ordinary life,
love gives us a fairy tale.

San Diego on Monday

Unfortunately Jacob had to work on Monday. Generously he left his car and took his motorcycle so Eric and I could get around.
We decided to visit the famous San Diego Zoo! It's really a fantastic zoo....and huge!!!

Here's Eric at the young Grizzlys.

One of my favourites -> otters!

The zoo had a nice little show where the introduced the audience to some of their great animals and talked about their lifestyles, habitats, senses, minds, characteristics,... Here's a white male wolf which howled with us!!!! Eric loved it and howled even louder!!

One of two amazing cats (forgot the species) who had a coat that looked like a snakes...just furrier:

AND FINALLYYY!!!!! MY ALLTIME FAVORITE ANIMAL!!!!!!!!!THE TAPIR!!!!!!!

Well, there were two and they were asleep. What a bummer. So we went to see the elephants, rhinos, ant eaters and giraffes hoping the tapirs would maybe wake up by the time we got back to them....

...

but....

...they still slept...

...well, at least I got a picture with them.

...

THEN!!!!!! ....

ONE FINALLY MOVED!!!!!

I was THRILLED!!!!!!

Aren't their noses great??!!!!! They could smell and sniff around corners!!!!!!

I just couldn't get enough of them!

Slurpslurpslurp....

aaaahhhh.....
...
...and the other one was still in a coma:

As Eric finally got me to move away from the beautiful tapirs we headed to the koalas....who were also asleep:

Then we went on to see more animals, i.e. a dirty pig,...

...another dirty pig with tusks,...

and another dirty pig with funny ears which really smelled horrible!

We saw sleeping hyenas,...

...a feasting bear that ate with all four paws,...

...nibbeling pandas,...

...gorgeous hippos,....

...hippos' b'donqkuhdonqks,...

....nice!!!!!....

...tigers,...

...

...and ...

...SOME MORE TAPIRS!!!!!!!

HEAVENNNNN!!!!!

What a great day in the San Diego Zoo!!!!
