- he wasn't so lucky in AR, because there was only one bed and that was MINE! The drive was good although we hit some traffic around the bigger cities along our way and some rain as well. I think there's no Welcome Center between Maryland and Arizona that Nelson hasn't sniffed out/marked! He's a real "rest area pro" now! He also had fun chasing reflections in the backseat of the Volvo. He's totally obsessed with any kind of light reflections on the ceiling (from shiny objects like my watch or some plastic bottle). He could spend hours watching/hypnotizing them and then snapping at them while making all kinds of weird noises (like "grmmmpfs") and faces. He made me laugh a lot!
When I left Hagerstown Eric and I thought we wouldn't see each other until February 2010. We both were very sad and it was incredibly hard to say good-bye.
BUT....we are in the Army which means nothing is for sure. Eric found out that he has to come back to Ft.Hood to deploy. So......he will come back tonight and we get to spend at least the weekend together!!!!!! I am sooooooo excited but it also means we have to say our good-byes again.

So glad you and Nelson had safe travels back to TX! What a silly dog! :O) You and Eric are both constantly in our thoughts and we'll be praying for both of you during his deployment! If you're ever up for a road trip while he's gone, you are always welcome (and surely encouraged!!) to come stay with us in GA for a while! We'd LOVE to have you!

Glad to hear that you made it back safely to Texas. Sounds like Nelson was a good travel companion and kept you entertained during the long trip. Too bad Eric didn't know before you left that he had to return to Ft. Hood so you could spend some more precious time together. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with both of you.
