Back and forward

The following months I spent traveling from USA to Germany and back. In September I started to explore Virginia Commonwealth University and met Volkmar Risch who was a German teacher at VCU. I sat in on some of his classes and had a lot of fun. He was a great guy and teacher who introduced me to Dr.Dvorak and other VCU professors.

In October I experienced my first Halloween!!! I had so much fun carving pumkins, dressing up (I dressed Eric up as a bunny!) and handing out candy to millions of children (at some point we ran out of candy and Eric had to go on a candy- run!).

After talking to Dr.Dvorak for a while he arranged for me to get an H1-B visa to work for VCU as an adjunct instructor for German. I was the happiest person in the whole wide world!!! In February Volkmar passed away. I was very sad and cried a lot. Why do those things always happen to the good people? I got my visa in March 2005. Finally!!! Still beeing sad I took over some of Volkmar's classes which made me realize that I was stronger than I thought.
At the same time Eric and I looked at some houses to buy. We found THE one: 6900Tulane Avenue. We loved the house and looked forward to decorating it (especially me!).

"Hilda" parked in front of the house!
